Elmo

This is mommy's first post but she loved the picture so much she wanted to share it with everyone. This Elmo was a gift from Aunt Maggie. Don't I look cute?

Update

It was a good week. Elliot is taking the formula once a night with no problems and is sleeping pretty well between feedings. Mom and Dad have worked out an every other night schedule which is allowing Mom to catch up on some much needed sleep.

Eli has a clogged tear duct which apparently is not a huge deal but it appears to have gotten a little infected so we had to start giving him eye drops.

Friday night was a big step. We all ventured out to meet up with Regina and Ethan for dinner. It was our first meal out with Eli at a real live restaurant. We went to Fudruckers and other than not being able to find parking everything went smoothly. We got to see Regina's ultrasound pictures from earlier in the day (they decided not to find out the sex in advance). She is 20 weeks along so Eli will have another new cousin before we know it.

Hi Dad

Mom sent dad this picture of Eli waving to him at work on Friday. It made his day. Posted by Picasa

Uncle Paul

Uncle Paul was in town for business this week and stopped over for dinner. Aunt Kate was probably pretty jealous but we hear she might be planning a trip up to introduce the new cousins soon. We hope so. Posted by Picasa

Update

Eli's first snow storm has come and gone and it was one for the record books in places like NYC. Around here we got an Eli's worth (a solid 12-14" :) ) which isn't too shabby. See below for pictures. He looks pretty funny in the hat from Aunt Kate but he's warm.

We also had his one month check up at the Dr. today. Everything is well - he has a clogged tear duct and the sore on his but was classified as "mild". He gained a half pound in the last two weeks which is perfectly fine but the Dr. wouldn't be upset if he was gaining a little more. He says 1-2 lbs. a month is good. We are going to supplement a little formula at his last night feeding to help fatten him up and help him sleep for a little longer period of time between night feedings. No complaint there. I don't want it to sound too bad - he is still doing really well, not crying or anything. But when he is up and wants his pacifier because he just spit it out for the 10th time - you're up. If that's the worst problem we ever have though we'd be the luckiest parents ever.

I am pretty tired today though - he was up a lot last night and today was the first day of me being back to work full time after my paternity leave.

Tim

The Gangsta Lean

Most of his clothes are still ridiculously big but thanks to Aunt Kate's hand-me-downs he has some hats that fit other than the ones they give you in the hospital). Posted by Picasa

Bath Time

Since Ellit's umbilical cord fell off we've been able to submerge him in water during bath time. For the most part he likes it. He screams coming out of the water becuase he's freezing and doesn't like to be rubbed with the wash cloth too much. His facial expression here pretty much sums up what I think he thinks of the bath. He seems to be thinking "this is ok and all but when will it be over?"

Update

Elliot weighed in at 5 lbs. 1 oz. at the Dr. Monday which is pretty much his birth weight so everything looks to be on track. He was measured at 19 inches. Shell says that means he grew an inch since his cone head must have shrunk by at least 1/2 inch since birth :) Everything else checked out well and we'll be back in 2 weeks then on a normal visit schedule (every month I think).

When we left the Dr. office it was so nice out. It was mid-afternoon, the sun was shining and the temperature was near 60. Pretty amazing for the end of January. We decided to take advantage of the weather and break out the new stroller for a test run. We walked around the neighbrhood for a good 1/2 hour. The stroller was awesome. Handled the curs and off roading down hill like a champ. It even has two cup holders and a place for your sunglasses. Can't wait till spring so we can take him on more walks. He slept like a baby :) the whole time.
